Screen printing is what we’re best known for, but embroidery is a big part of what we do at Oh Boy! Print Shop. If you need custom embroidered hats, polos, jackets, or bags for your business, team, or event — we can help.
What We Embroider
We embroider a wide range of apparel and accessories. Our most popular items:
- Hats and caps — structured and unstructured styles, snapbacks, dad hats, beanies
- Polos — left chest logo embroidery for businesses, restaurants, and corporate uniforms
- Jackets — chest, sleeve, and back embroidery on fleece, softshell, and workwear styles
- Bags — totes, backpacks, duffels, and promotional bags
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, reach out anyway. If we can embroider it, we will.
Lower Minimums Than Most Shops
A lot of embroidery shops require large minimum orders. We don’t. Our minimums are lower than most — under 12 pieces — which makes embroidery a realistic option for small businesses, startups, and anyone who doesn’t need a warehouse full of branded gear.
Whether you need 6 embroidered hats for your management team or 200 polos for your entire staff, we can handle it.
Why Embroidery Instead of Screen Printing?
Both methods look great — the right choice depends on what you’re decorating and the look you’re going for.
Embroidery tends to work better for:
- Structured items like hats — ink doesn’t adhere to curved surfaces the way thread does
- Professional and corporate apparel — embroidery reads as more polished and durable on polos and jackets
- Smaller logo placements — a left chest logo on a polo looks cleaner embroidered than screen printed
- Workwear that needs to hold up — embroidery is more durable than ink on items that go through heavy use and frequent washing
Screen printing tends to work better for large prints, t-shirts, and designs with a lot of color variation. If you’re not sure which is right for your project, we’re happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.
How the Process Works
1. Send us your artwork
Vector files work best — AI, EPS, or a clean PDF. If you only have a PNG or JPEG, send it anyway and we’ll let you know if it needs to be adjusted. Embroidery requires converting your artwork into a digitized stitch file, which we handle in-house.
2. We digitize your design
Digitizing is the process of converting your logo into a stitch pattern. This is where detail matters — fine lines and small text need to be adjusted to translate well into thread. We’ll flag anything that needs tweaking before we run your order.
3. Approve your proof
We send a digital proof before we start. You approve it, we embroider. Nothing gets run without your sign-off.
4. Pickup or delivery
We’re at 8910 Research Blvd, Suite A2 in Austin. Most customers pick up in person — you’re welcome to stop by and inspect the order before you take it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does custom embroidery cost?
Embroidery is priced by stitch count — the more stitches in your design, the higher the cost per piece. A standard left chest logo (around 5,000–8,000 stitches) is typically very affordable per piece, especially at larger quantities. Use our quote form for an exact price on your project.
What’s the minimum order for embroidery?
Our minimums are lower than most shops — under 12 pieces. So if you need just a handful of embroidered hats or polos, we can accommodate that.
How long does embroidery take?
Turnaround is typically 10–14 business days from approved proof, similar to screen printing. Rush options are available depending on order size and complexity — contact us for availability.
Can I bring my own garments?
Yes but it depends. We can embroider on garments you supply, as long as they’re embroidery-friendly. Reach out before bringing items in so we can confirm they’ll work with our equipment.
Do you embroider hats?
Yes — hats and caps are one of our most popular embroidery items. Structured caps, dad hats, snapbacks, and beanies all work well. Hat embroidery requires a specialized hoop setup, which we handle in-house.
We are passionate about helping Austin businesses look their best. Contact us today to get a quote on your embroidery project, or stop by the shop to see samples in person.
